Peter Parker is the main and titular character in The New Adventures of Spider-Man. In the first Episode he becomes a superhero called "Spider-Man".
Peter Parker was orphaned at the age of six when his parents were killed in an airplane crash overseas. He went to live with his uncle and aunt; Ben and May Parker, in Forest Hills, New York. Parker was extremely bright and became a high honors student at Midtown High School. Parker's shyness and scholastic interest often made him a social outcast.
As stated, Peter became somewhat of an outcast, being the best friend of Harry Osborn, son of the rich and influential Norman Osborn. He was constantly the target of bullying from Flash Thompson and Eddie Brock, the local jocks and bullies. He had also gained a slight crush on Elizabeth "Liz" Allan, girlfriend to Flash Thompson, leading to more bullying from Flash. His friendship with Harry helped him get through school, and he even got an internship at OsCorp, run by Norman Osborn.
OsCorp's Experiment: The Birth of the Spider-Man
Getting an internship at OsCorp, he witnessed an attempt to enhance animals' capabilities, but the test subject (A spider) escaped after being hit by radioactive waves. It bit him and, feeling sick, his best friend Harry sent him home saying "I'll tell my Dad what happened."
After getting home, Peter passed out at night. The next morning, he woke up, but had discovered he was stronger and more agile. He then realized he could stick to walls after dodging a speeding truck. He then was called out from school to learn his Aunt May was ill, and they didn't have the money to pay for it. To pay for it, he tried to sell some things, but nothing worked. He then saw a poster advertising a prize for anyone who could last at least 5 minutes in the cage with Frederick Dukes, the Human Blob. He quickly sewed a suit, and entered the match as the "Spectacular Spider-Man".
He easily defeated Frederick, but when told he couldn't gain the money without signing up for a 10-year contract. He refused and started to leave, but a robber stole the money. When asked to stop him, he merely said "Not my problem.". Later, he learned the same criminal had killed his Uncle Ben in an attempt to hide in the Parkers' House. This has led to his attitude toward stopping any crime, and has always implanted into him "With great power, comes great responsibility."
Defender of the City
Soon, Spider-Man came face to face with many criminals. The first was "The Lizard", his main boss at OsCorp other than Osborn. After multiple battles with the Lizard, he injected him with a cure, returning his boss to normal.
