History
Chaser is an enemy of the Offbeats, especially Sparky.
Early life
Chase Cooper was born in the small town of Tibooburra, New South Wales. As he grew up, he enjoyed taunting and beating up James Blake (aka Sparky).
Superpowers
Years later, however, he and a small group of others were changed forever when a small nuclear bomb went off. Luckily they were far enough away not to be killed by the blast but were instead mutated, gaining superpowers. Chase gained super speed. After going to a bar shortly afterward he, Nick Burr (Meta-Man) and Richard "Ricky Moon" Shine (Moonshine) began talking and soon discovered that they all knew and hated James. They heard of the Offbeats, a superhero team in America, and instantly recognized Sparky as James. Looking to beat him up, they agreed to team up to defeat him. However, they themselves were beaten horribly. Nevertheless they still persisted to be a constant thorn in the Offbeats' side.
Civil War
During the Civil War, they agreed to be part of the villains working for SHIELD and helped capture the Offbeats, who strongly disagreed with the idea of superhero registration. However during this time, two of the Offbeats (Muscle and Sparky) had left to start their own team because they had lost their powers during M-Day. They sought out the other heroes who opposed the act and got their help to free their former teammates, beating the Trinity of Terror in the process. During the battle in the Negative Zone, Sparky managed to send Chaser and Meta-Man flying by throwing a hand grenade at their feet, so they were trapped in the Negative Zone when the battle was moved to New York.
Return
However, Moonshine, with the help of Dormammu, managed to get them back. Shortly afterwards they kidnapped Tech's girlfriend Roxanne Simmons and forced him to make them amour and weaponry. After gaining their new equipment, they fought the Offbeats on a mesa but were interrupted by one of Dr. Nicodemus' experiments: Battlebot #15. After showing up, the Trinity attempted to destroy it but it surprised them by activating a bomb which killed the robot and sent the three flying. Tech watched as Chaser's flaming body flew away.
